We are looking for an enthusiastic Earth Observation specialist to help our young and hands-on team drive innovative Remote Sensing projects forward. In this position, you will work with Sentinel Hub Services and the Euro Data Cube (EDC) to create added-value services for our clients and partners. You will also work cross-functionally with our teams to implement the latest EO capabilities and continuously improve our services.
About Sentinel Hub
Sentinel Hub GmbH is an Austrian start-up founded in 2020 by Sinergise and a graduate of the ESA BIC Austria programme that operates in the field of Earth Observation. In close collaboration with our parent company Sinergise, we focus on developing value-added services and providing actionable information from satellite imagery based on Sentinel Hub APIs.
Our current team is made up of geographers, physicists, developers and Remote Sensing engineers from five different countries. By combining these diverse technical backgrounds, we develop tailored solutions for a wide range of applications, such as environmental monitoring, disaster relief, or land management. Our team also has experience in conducting national and international research projects, by providing high-value derived information from raw Earth Observation data and implementing complex data-processing algorithms.
If you are passionate about satellite imagery, want to put forward ideas and drive innovative projects, your place is in our team!
You have a degree in Earth Sciences, Physics, or equivalent ideally followed by at least 2-3 years of work experience in the EO sector. Throughout your career you have applied your technical skills to image/signal processing or geospatial data analysis. You have a track-record of leading research/industry projects or have experience in product-ownership, meaning you can work independently and conduct industry/scientific projects, as well as present results in project meetings and at international conferences. You are keen to provide solutions to customers that help them gain insights into our Planet and environment. You are curious and like to keep up to date with the latest developments in the EO sector.

Propose and implement functional and technical features within our existing services.
Prepare technical and user documentation.
Help raise awareness of our services through various outreach activities and at international conferences.
Degree in Science, Engineering, Environmental studies or equivalent.
Knowledge of Remote Sensing concepts.
General knowledge of satellite constellations, including instrumentation and their application.
Experience working on international projects.
Experience in image analysis using a code-based approach and familiarity with geospatial libraries (GDAL, geopandas…).
Attention to detail and a sense of responsibility.
Strong teamwork skills.
Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to a non-technical audience.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Willingness to learn.
Experience with ESA projects.
Working knowledge of the physical principles behind SAR.
Experience with mass-processing of data.
Numeracy and statistical analysis skills.

A strong customer orientation and ability to listen.
We are looking for well-rounded, motivated people that are driven by purposeful work and are eager to learn. If you don't have the required experience, apply anyway! We value your potential to learn new skills more than the skills you currently possess.
